At every step of our journey, our paths will cross those of the Kazan icon, one of the most venerated in Russia and whose history is an incredible epic. We will discover the intimate bonds that connect Our Lady of Kazan with Fatima and by what unprecedented paths Mary chose to watch over the Russian people and also upon all of us!

Discover another dimension of Russia. This pilgrimage is organized in collaboration with Dominique Leboeuf and Clément Fortin, two Quebecers living in Moscow for more than two years. It is in their company and that of their friends and acquaintances in Russia that we will live this pilgrimage. SAINT PETERSBURG

From May 2 to 4, 2017, in St. Petersburg, visit the largest Orthodox cathedrals built by the Czars, churches that have passed through the period of communism, and which have been restored or rebuilt in their greatest splendour. They are true architectural masterpieces reflecting the depth of faith of the Russian people and its artistic refinement.  Also discover the Museum of the Hermitage (the largest Museum of Russia), the Peter and Paul Fortress and the Palace of Peterhof surrounded by spectacular series of cascades. Together we will explore this city of dazzling beauty and enjoy a ride on the Neva, a fully navigable river, a vital artery for Russia.


NOVGOROD THE GREAT

May 5, departure for Novgorod the Great, the oldest city in Russia, its first capital and home of the soul of Orthodoxy. Novgorod is located along the Volkhov river, on the ancient trade route between Central Asia and northern Europe. This "Conservatory" of the Russian architecture of the middle ages is a gem that houses a fortress (Kremlin) dominated by the St. Sophia Cathedral, built between 1045-1050 and is likely the first stone building built in Russia. Also visit the Novgorod Museum-reserve, which contains, among other things, an extensive collection of icons many of which date back to the XI and XII centuries.


MOSCOW (1)

Sunday, May 7, we will be in Moscow for a visit to the Church of St-Louis-of-the-French, the only Catholic Church left open during the Communist period. We will continue the day with a walk to the Red Square and to the Moskva docks. Then, it's a departure to Kazan by train!


KAZAN

From May 8 to 9, 2017, discover the city of Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. Its foundation is related to the ancient history of the Tatar people and is located at the junction of two rivers where two languages, two cultures, and two religions meet. It is here that we will come into contact with one of the most venerated icons of Russia, our Lady of Kazan. We will see the intimate bonds between Kazan and Fatima. It's also in Kazan that was published for the first time The story of a Russian Pilgrim, a classic of Orthodox spirituality.

The (Kremlin) fortress of Kazan contains within its walls several buildings including the famous underwater Tower and the Cathedral of the Annunciation, we will also visit the Qolsharif mosque. Finally, get ready for a memorable evening in the old Tatar suburb where during the 18th century, Tatar Goldsmith developed and became Kazan's renown.


MOSCOW (2)

From May 10 to 13, we will visit the metropolis and will have the opportunity to visit the main monuments, cathedrals, and Palace that are all part of the Kremlin, the great urban fortress. You will discover legendary places that testify the presence of Mary and her constant action in history. You will have the opportunity to visit the Tretyakov gallery where is located the original icon of the Trinity painted by Andrei Rublev as well as Our Lady of Vladimir, protectress of Russia.  As we journey, we will have the opportunity to learn more about the history of the Russia and also to meet Muscovites who will share with us their experience of in life Russia where Christianity is booming.  Finally, we will give you an unforgettable evening in the concert hall of the Prokofiev museum, a novel musical experience prepared especially for you!

The trip will end on May 13, the anniversary of the first apparition of our Lady of the Rosary in Fatima, exactly 100 years ago!

INFORMATION

Departure: May 1, 2017, at 5:10 pm Montreal for St. Petersburg.

Return:  May 14, 2017, at 12.50 pm from Moscow to Montreal.

Cost: $2,600* single occupancy and $2,300* double occupancy (choice 1 double bed or 2 twin beds).

This package includes: all transportation (airfare, trains, buses), Russian visa, the hotel accommodations and breakfasts, guides and companions, a music concert and four meals during special events.

At your expense: the cost of visits to museums, lunches ($10-$15) and dinners ($20-$25).

For those who are interested: two preliminary meetings are scheduled. You will be invited to a workshop on iconography given by Alexandre Sobolev. The second meeting will focus on aspects of the history of the Russia and we will take the opportunity to meet and share information relevant to the trip. The locations and dates will be determined according to the availability of the participants.

To reserve your spot: a non-refundable deposit of $200 is required.

In order to promote a friendly atmosphere that is adapted to each, the group will be composed of a maximum of 16 people. Acceptance will be based on first come, first served.
