Hotelkeeper's Prayer

Lord,
The dining rooms are closed, once more I am unemployed! It's a constant battle against discouragement and frustration… What is helping me is to think that it is better this way for everyone's health. I like serving people, talking to them, and even say a few words of encouragement: that's why I chose this job, but it's also for the same reason that the pandemic and health measures are such a burden to bear.

I sometimes imagine myself being at the hotel where Mary and Joseph presented themselves on the evening of the first Christmas, I would have loved to receive them, give them the best room…

I am counting on you to give me courage and a lot of patience, so that one day I can welcome again all those who will knock at my door. Like Mary and Joseph, I put my trust in you because I know that you will know how to give me what I need.
