Salesman's Prayer

Lord , I feel an opprobrium upon me: they say that you drove the vendors out of the Temple. But you chased them away because they were thieves.

Selling is to exchange something for a similar value. But who is the judge of all values? You are the master of justice. And as I know, you are yourself a salesman.

You want to sell me gold purified by fire, white clothes to mark my redemption, in fact, you also redeemed me with your ultimate oblation.

But in the end, what you sell is a gift, free of charge. So move me to give myself to you in order to find my true value, for your joy and mine, for your glory and my salvation.
